The sector comes together at a convention whose exhibition area addresses the main challenges that lie ahead
The 4th Piscina & Wellness Forum shines a spotlight on sustainability and energy savings
The latest technologies and architectural design at the service of energy saving and sustainability, the impact of digitalisation and changes to current legislation and regulations will be some of the main topics discussed at the 4th edition of the Piscina & Wellness Forum. The event includes a convention and an area devoted to the sector’s leading brands with the aim of showcasing the most innovative products and also promoting knowledge, business and networking among pool and wellness industry professionals.
Fira Barcelona and the Spanish Pool Employers’ Association, ASOFAP in its Spanish initials, are finalising the preparations for the 4th Piscina & Wellness Forum, which will bring the industry together on 1 and 2 December at the Official College of Architects of Madrid, the COAM. The event, which is alternately held with the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona trade fair, has already allocated the exhibition’s entire space for new products to more than 20 leading brands such as Fluidra, Piscine Laghetto, Action Waterscapes, Productos QP, Hayward, Renolit, Rosa Gres, ATH-BWT, Mariner 3S, Acepool-Gres de Aragón, Aquavia, Basecrete, Baeza, Gresmanc, SCP, PS Pool, Ibercoverpool, Oxidine, Prominent and Quicesa.
After the opening of the congress, which will be led by the President of ASOFAP and Vice-President of the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona Exhibition, Pedro Arrebola, and the Official Dean of the Madrid College of Architects, Sigfrido Herráez, 25 speakers will present the industry’s key arguments in 16 sessions to identify the sector’s greatest challenges and discuss how to address them. In this regard, the results will be presented for the second half of 2022 of the Pool Industry Barometer in Spain, prepared by ASOFAP, and a reflection will be made on the sector’s prospects, which is still trending upward, although the results of 2021, when it grew by 10%, are not to be expected.
Likewise, the synergies between architects and builders as the basis for sustainable projects to attain a responsible use of resources, maximum energy savings and significant cost reductions will be discussed by the partner and director of Aquarium, Jose María Vega, and the executive director of Share Architects, Ángel Hernández.
In another of the round tables planned, it will be explained how installers and technicians of water facilities will have to update their training to adapt to the new regulations, approved in January 2022, in order to continue exercising their profession under a new legal framework.
On the other hand, the companies exhibiting at the Forum will talk about the features of their most innovative products in different sessions of the convention, as well as the results of their R&D&I investment, indicating the function, application and objectives of their new items, plus the advantages they offer to the distribution chain and the end user.
ASOFAP Awards for the best pools in Spain 2022
The Piscina & Wellness Forum will also host the 2022 ASOFAP Awards ceremony, which this year has more than 100 candidates for the 21 awards in seven categories. With these awards, ASOFAP annually recognises the best pools built or renovated over the last two years with the aim of increasing the sector’s visibility and consolidating the market positioning of the companies affiliated to the association.
The Forum, which will also have spaces set up for networking, is geared towards manufacturers, distributors and installers of swimming pool products, as well as architects, engineers, designers, builders, managers of public swimming pools, sporting facilities, hotels and campsite establishments, water park designers, wellness centres, spas and gyms, among other profiles.
Fira Barcelona and ASOFAP will once again come together at Piscina & Wellness Barcelona, the leading trade fair in Spain and the sector’s most international on the European trade fair calendar, where the entire pool product value chain for residential and public use will be on display, as well as installations, equipment and accessories related to wellness, spa, fitness and outdoor decoration, between 27 and 30 November 2023, at the Gran Via venue.
